Together with Roosje Klap, Joost Janmaat just finished the production of a real life version of the proverbial Double Agenda. Apart from the normal agenda functionality of planning your life, it adds reflection and soul searching. It provokes you to contemplate why you meet people or do things.
The booklet is riddled with assignments: “Make a CV of your social life”, “Underline those moments of this week that could end up in your autobiography one day”. During the whole year 2011, the Double Agenda will make a test drive through Amsterdam. For 52 weeks, it will go hand-to-hand: from politicians, to entrepreneurs to artists to bankers. On the one hand, the test drive is a simple bèta test of the use of this product. On the other hand, as it goes from hand to hand, the test drive will enhance different agenda’s, lives and interest in this city to merge and intertwine. The agenda is now with Melle Daamen, director of the Statdsschouwburg Amsterdam, and on its way to Chris Keulemans (writer and director of our beloved Tolhuistuin), Paul Spies (the director of the Amsterdams Historisch Museum), Abdelkader Benali (writer) and Paul Hermanides (entrepreneur). Let us know if you want to take part in the 2011 test drive of the Double Agenda. A slight warning beforehand: to recognize the double agendas in your life is not for the faint hearted. Choose deliberately.
