Joost Janmaat

Joost Janmaat (1977) is one of the founders and partner of Partizan Publik.

After numerous uncompleted and uncharted academic wanderings in the fields of history, social science, language and anthropology, he got a degree in Political Science from The University of Amsterdam based on a thesis on the political economy of the Afghan civil war. He started his professional life as a researcher and lobbyist for a number of Dutch NGOs, before Partizan provided a glorious way out of that. Joost combines a love for houtjetouwtje gypsy architecture with an obscene interest in big state social engineering schemes.

He likes to think like Hunter S. Thompson, act like captain Jack Sparrow and sing like Gloria Gaynor. Finally, he is a fine carpenter.
